Add URLs, documents, trends, and curated publications to your briefs.
Configure sources
Sources are the raw material for article generation. When a brief runs, EarlyForge fetches content from the sources you configure, enriches them with real-time data from its discovery system, and feeds everything into its intelligent retrieval engine. Better sources lead to better articles.
Source types
Paste specific article or page URLs as seed sources. These are fetched directly and used as primary reference material during generation.
When to use: You have a specific article, press release, or research paper you want the article to reference.
How to add: Paste one or more URLs into the URL field. EarlyForge validates each URL and shows a preview with the page title and domain.
Example: Paste a Reuters article about a new regulation, and the generated article will reference its facts and quotes.
How sources are used during generation
When a brief runs, EarlyForge enriches the sources you added with real-time discovery, applying a priority order:
- Your explicit URLs and documents -- Fetched and indexed first. These are your anchor sources.
- Linked trends -- Latest data from the trend detection system.
- Curated library sources -- Contextual content from vetted publications.
- General discovery -- Additional sources found automatically based on the brief's topic and category.
This layered approach keeps your articles grounded in the specific material you provide while benefiting from real-time discovery. Every claim drawn from a source is backed by an inline [1], [2] citation linking to the original.
Adding and managing sources in the UI
- Search bar -- Search for sources by name, domain, or topic across all source types.
- Category filters -- Narrow the curated library to specific domains.
- Drag-and-drop -- Reorder sources to signal priority. Sources higher in the list are weighted more heavily.
- Remove -- Click the X on any source to remove it from the brief.
Mix specific URLs with linked trends for the best coverage. URLs and documents provide depth and accuracy for known facts, while trends provide freshness and real-time relevance.
Source material does not need to match your output language. EarlyForge can ingest English sources and generate a French article, or the reverse -- cross-lingual retrieval is handled automatically.
