Manage subscription

EarlyForge handles billing securely through Stripe. You can subscribe to a plan, change plans, update your payment method, and download invoices — all from your billing settings or the Stripe Customer Portal.

Subscribe to a plan

Open billing settings

Go to Settings → Billing and click Upgrade plan.

Choose a plan and billing period

Pick the plan that fits you — Starter (€49/mo), Pro (€149/mo), Scale (€299/mo), or Enterprise (custom) — and choose monthly or annual billing. Annual billing saves roughly two months versus paying monthly. See the Plans guide for a full comparison.

Complete checkout

Click Subscribe. You are redirected to a secure Stripe-hosted checkout page to enter your payment details. Stripe supports credit and debit cards, plus additional payment methods depending on your region.

Return to EarlyForge

After payment, you are redirected back to EarlyForge. Your new plan is active immediately and all of its features are unlocked.

Manage your subscription

Click Manage subscription from Settings → Billing to open the Stripe Customer Portal. From there you can:

  • Update your payment method — add a new card, remove an expired one, or change your default.
  • View and download invoices — every payment has a PDF invoice you can download.
  • Change plan — upgrade or downgrade directly in the portal.
  • Cancel — end your subscription at the end of the current billing period.

Monthly vs. annual billing

You can pay monthly or annually for any paid plan.

  • Monthly — billed every month on your subscription date; cancel any time.
  • Annual — billed once per year at a lower effective rate (roughly two months free).

You can switch between monthly and annual from the Stripe Customer Portal. Switching to annual applies the new rate from your next billing date.

Upgrading your plan

When you upgrade (for example, Starter to Pro):

  • The new plan's features are available immediately.
  • Billing is prorated — you are charged the difference for the days remaining in the current period.
  • Every quota is raised right away.
  • Your billing date stays the same.

Downgrading your plan

When you downgrade (for example, Scale to Pro):

  • Your current plan stays active until the end of the billing period.
  • The lower plan takes effect at the start of the next cycle.
  • No refund is issued for the remaining time on the current plan.

Before downgrading, review your usage. If you exceed the lower plan's limits — more sites, more team members, or more alerts than it allows — you will need to free up slots before the downgrade takes effect. Excess resources may become read-only until you are within the new limits.

Canceling your subscription

When you cancel:

  • You keep access to all paid features until the end of the current billing period.
  • After that, your account reverts to the Free plan (5,000-word monthly AI budget, 1 site, 1 team member).
  • Your content — articles, briefs, and sites — is preserved, subject to Free plan limits.
  • You can re-subscribe at any time to restore full access.

Invoices

Your invoices are available in two places:

  1. In-app — go to Settings → Billing to see your recent invoices and download them.
  2. Stripe Customer Portal — your full invoice history with download links.

Stripe also emails a PDF invoice to the Owner after each payment.

Enterprise plans

Enterprise is priced per organization based on volume, features, and support needs. To set one up:

  1. Contact sales from the pricing page or by email.
  2. Discuss your requirements — volume, SLA, SSO/SCIM, and custom integrations.
  3. Receive a custom quote.
  4. The EarlyForge team provisions your subscription.

Only the Owner role can manage billing. Admins, Editors, Writers, and Viewers do not have access to billing settings. See Roles and permissions.
