Define each site's editorial voice — tone, length, structure, and do/don't rules the AI follows.
Style guide
A site's style guide tells the AI how to write for that publication. Every field becomes part of the instructions used during article generation, so the output matches your tone, length, structure, and editorial rules.
To edit it, go to Sites → select your site → Style guide.
Tone
Set the default voice for articles:
- Neutral — balanced, fact-focused reporting without opinion
- Analytical — data-driven analysis with deeper commentary
- Casual — conversational, approachable language for general audiences
- Formal — professional, structured prose for institutional publications
- Journalistic — traditional news style with an inverted-pyramid structure
Length
Choose the default target length:
- Short (~500 words) — news updates and summaries
- Standard (~1,000 words) — full-coverage articles
- Long (~2,000 words) — deep dives and investigative pieces
Structure
Describe the article structure you prefer, in plain language. The AI uses it to organize sections and headings.
Example: "Open with a strong lead, then background context, then expert analysis, then future implications."
Do — preferred vocabulary and rules
Tell the AI what to favor. Use this for wording conventions and editorial habits you want applied consistently.
Example: "Use 'artificial intelligence' on first mention, then 'AI'. Prefer active voice. Keep paragraphs to two or three sentences. Include publication dates for cited sources."
Don't — forbidden words
List words and phrases the AI should never use — competitor names, slang, or overused buzzwords.
Example: "game-changer, revolutionary, disruptive, unprecedented, synergy"
Keywords
Add SEO keywords to include naturally where relevant. The AI weaves them in without keyword stuffing.
Example: "AI, machine learning, automation, innovation"

Be specific. "Keep paragraphs to two or three sentences" works far better than "be concise." The more concrete your instructions, the more consistently the AI follows them.
How the style guide is applied
The style guide is used every time an article is generated for this site — whether you start from a trend, write a brief, or generate manually. Briefs inherit the site's style guide by default, and an individual brief can override specific fields (for example a casual blog post in a site that otherwise defaults to journalistic).
Style-guide changes apply to future articles only. Already-generated articles are not rewritten automatically. To bring an existing article in line with new rules, use the AI editor to rephrase or shift its tone.
