Configure a site's language, default publishing destination, and content defaults.
Site configuration
Beyond a site's name and categories, each site has settings that control its default language, where articles publish, and the defaults applied to new content. Open them at Sites → select your site → Settings.
Default language
The output language used for new articles on this site. EarlyForge supports 28 article languages — including English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Arabic. An individual brief can override this when you need a specific article in another language.
Default category
The category pre-selected when you create new articles or briefs for this site. This saves a step when most of your content falls under one topic.
Default tone
The default writing voice for generated articles, drawn from the site's style guide. Briefs can override it per piece.
Default publishing destination
If a site has more than one publishing destination connected, choose which one is used by default. You can still pick any connected destination when you publish manually, and you can cross-publish the same article to several destinations at once.
Credentials for every destination — WordPress, Ghost, Blogger, Shopify, Wix, LinkedIn, and every other connector — are stored inside the site's connection and encrypted by EarlyForge. They are never shown back to you in full and are used only to publish on your behalf.
Scheduled publishing
Scheduled publishing is available on Pro and higher plans.
When scheduled publishing is enabled, articles generated from a brief on a schedule are published to the site's default destination automatically. When it is off, scheduled articles are saved as drafts so you can review them before they go live.
Start with scheduled publishing turned off and review your first few generated articles manually. Once you trust the output, turn it on for hands-off automation.
Webhooks
Connect a site to your own integrations with signed webhooks that fire when articles publish, alerts match, or briefs complete. See the Webhooks guide for events, payloads, and signature verification.
How changes apply
Configuration changes apply to future articles and briefs. Already-published articles are not affected — for example, changing the default language from English to French only changes new articles.
Tips
- Test every destination — after connecting WordPress, Ghost, or another destination, use Test connection to confirm the credentials work before you publish.
- Set a default destination — when several destinations are connected, a default keeps one-click publishing and scheduled publishing predictable.
- Use webhooks for downstream automation — trigger your own workflows whenever an article publishes.
