Trend reports

Trend reports are automated email digests that summarize the top trends for your site. Instead of checking the dashboard every day, you receive a curated overview in your inbox -- ideal for editorial planning meetings, team briefings, or simply staying informed.

Both report types are delivered as professionally formatted, responsive emails.

What is in a report?

Each trend entry includes:

  • Trend title -- The trend name as it appears on the dashboard.
  • Score -- Current score (0-100) with a visual bar indicator.
  • Lifecycle badge -- The current stage (emerging, trending, peaking, saturating, declining).
  • Velocity indicator -- An arrow showing whether the trend is accelerating, stable, or decelerating.
  • Source count -- How many distinct sources are reporting on this trend.
  • Score change -- How the score has moved since the previous report.

Weekly summaries add:

  • New this week -- Trends that appeared for the first time during the past seven days.
  • Biggest movers -- Trends with the largest score changes, up or down.
  • Lifecycle transitions -- Trends that changed stage (e.g., trending to peaking).

Setting up reports

Open report settings

Navigate to Settings in the sidebar, then select the Reports tab. You can also reach it from TrendsReports.

Enable report types

Toggle Daily digest on (and Weekly summary on Scale). You can enable each independently.

Configure categories

Select which trend categories to include. By default, the report matches your site's configured categories. Narrow it down if you only want specific domains (e.g., only Technology and AI).

Set delivery preferences

  • Delivery time -- Choose when the report is sent (e.g., 8:00 AM). Daily digests go out every day at this time; weekly summaries go out every Monday.
  • Timezone -- Select your timezone so the delivery time is correct for your location.

Add recipients (optional)

By default, the report is sent to your account email. Add extra addresses for team members or stakeholders who should receive the digest but may not have EarlyForge accounts.

Per-site reports

Each site gets its own reports matching its category and region configuration. If you manage multiple sites, each can have different report settings:

  • A technology-focused site receives a report highlighting AI, crypto, and software trends.
  • A health-focused site receives a report focused on medical research, public health, and pharmaceutical developments.

Reports are generated independently per site, so categories and regions never cross-contaminate.

Weekly summaries are ideal for editorial planning meetings. Share the report with your team on Monday morning to decide which trends are worth writing about that week.

Reports reflect the trends that were active during the reporting period. If a trend emerged and declined between two daily reports, it still appears in the next digest with its peak score and lifecycle data.
