Connect Dev.to

Cross-publish EarlyForge articles to the DEV community with an API key — canonical URL included, no SEO penalty.

Connect Dev.to

DEV is one of the largest developer communities. If your articles cover tech, AI or engineering topics, cross-posting there puts them in front of millions of developers — and the built-in canonical URL keeps your own blog as the SEO original.

Connect your account

Generate an API key

Head over to your DEV Community extensions settings, scroll to DEV Community API Keys, enter a name like EarlyForge and click Generate API Key. Copy it.

Add the connection in EarlyForge

Go to Connectors → Dev.to → Add a site, paste the key into API Key, and click Connect site.

Choose draft or immediate publish

Leave Publish Immediately off to receive articles as drafts in your DEV dashboard (review, then publish there), or turn it on to go live directly.

In Advanced options, set Canonical URL to your blog's pattern, e.g. https://blog.example.com/{slug}. DEV will tell search engines your site hosts the original.

DEV allows at most 4 tags, lowercase letters and numbers only. EarlyForge normalizes your article tags automatically, so a tag like Machine-Learning becomes machinelearning instead of failing the publish.
